Saw another thread like this in the dell forum, the m1330 won 39:1. I'm trying to decide which one to get even though the sz6 isn't out yet. Your thoughts?

i'd go for sony only because I'm willing to pay more for style and materials used.

i already ordered my m1330, because, of all the options, and the price plus i got a 3 year extended warranty for free. But the sz6 is one nice machine, it's just more expensive. I have some friends who have had vaios and they had quite some problems with them.still, if my lappy doesn't get here in the next two weeks, i'm going to cancel and get myself the sz6.

Hmmm... I bet if you order the SZ 6 when it comes out, you'll get it before I get my m1330!! And I ordered it on June 29th... Amazing....

I think we should wait for the SZ review, although I like its design most. :D

I really want to see its perfomance, specially the graphics...

if u configured m1330 as the base of sz6 u would note that m1330 is more expensive ;)

You pay for what you get these days. The Dell is cheaper, but you also get cheaper build quality. I was not impressed with the flex on the LCD of the 1330, or the little gap between the LCD and frame of the LCD. Also, they keys seem to plasticy for my taste, and there is some real flex if you press on the keys hard enough. Yes, you do pay for a premium with the Sony, but i'd glady buy a better built notebook over a cheaper, bang for buck one. This opinion is coming from the excellently built Asus W3J user.

I'm waiting until the Dell Kiosk and CompUSA by my home get both actual units I can touch and feel before I make my final decision.

Hopefully they will both have them by July 30th.

I made the above comment after mucking around with the M1330 for around 30 minutes at my local Dell Kiosk. The salesman thought I was a potential customer! (I had no intention of purchasing it, just to see the thing in real life).

Dell has longer warranties, 128mb 8400GS, comes with cds for reinstalling programs, has room for a Robsin card (if ever deemed useful), and has guides to taking apart the laptop.

    sony isn't winning by much

engadget lists dell as shipping m1330's by this week

sony does not have their sz6 listed yet -- i was hoping to look at some reviews of it as well

when do you think we can see them in stores? I"m sure sonystyle stores will have them the same day they show up online -- but what about dell?
