was playing around with the run-> msconfig-> services and just wondering if anyone knows the services/startup programs that start the keyboard s buttons and the battery/ power icon in the taskbar use. Those are the only services i need from sony the rest i want to uncheck but there are so many thought i could save my self some time if someone knew it.

I think for the s and fn keys, it's the hkcmd.
For the battery/power management, it's SPmgr
    They're on my S560P

I have the same question (actually posted a new thread about it yesterday). If you google for those .exe files, you pretty much get nothing. TV Arbitration tool? In case the LCD wants a divorce from the keyboard? If you find out, let me know, because I'm all about disabling unnecessary things from running.

Well I wouldn't disable the TV Arbitration Tool if you often connect your Vaio to an external monitor/projector/tv. THe Vaio automatically recognises the external monitor and enables it. Pretty neat feature, especially if you've witnessed business meetings with people frantically trying to get their notebook connected to the video projector..

since I never connect an external monitor, I guess I'll change it to "manual" or "disabled"

    do you know anything about:

vaio entertainment aggregation and control service
    vaio entertainment database service
    vaio entertainment file import service
    vaio entertainment task scheduler
    vaio entertainment UPnP client adapter
vaio event service (think I need this one)

    Thanks for the help!
