first I would plug in my ac adapter and it wouldn't boot.
next the battery charge light flashed like crazy
then it decided to boot
took forever for it to detect my usb flash drive to boot from it and install windows
installed teh intel HD drivers. then my screen would go from bright and stay at 30-40 percent and nothing could change it
now my battery tells me it cant be detected and to go into hibernation. and nothing I can do can get past this POS popup
what a piece of this has turned into

May be you messed something up.
Anyway to resolve the issue about the battery as soon as you boot up type in system config and under the start up tab disable isb.ultility and then click apply.
Also, to resolve the issue about the ambient light sensor you can turn of the ambient light sensor in the vaio control centre if you haven't resolved this yet. -
where in teh control center is the option for teh light sensor? i can't find it anywhere.
i got rid of the battery issue -
even with unchecking automatically adjusting brightness the screen does not get any brighter. so where can this be changed?
-
Well you need to uncheck it and then set your brightness at max. You can do this in the control centre or using your OS built in power management tools.
-
and i have but it does not get any brighter. only time it gets brighter is when i uninstall the intel HD
-
on my 5th clean install and so far 4 of them don't work

try disabling the ISBMgr.exe program that runs in the background. That might help solve your battery issue. Are you using a battery from Sony?
I've had the same problem before too with the Battery LED light flashing and the popup and putting the computer into hibernation too. The reason being was because I was using a third-party battery. Apparently, VAIOs come with the program (ISBMgr.exe) to kind of put the computer in a "lock-down" mode when using a third-party batteries... I guess they want you to only buy/use Sony certified batteries.
Anyways, if you can disable the program from starting up through msconfig.. that should fix your problem. It did for me. If not, try googling up ISBMgr.exe and you'll find many VAIO users with the same problem and what the program does specifically. Your last resort would be contacting Sony to resolve the issue.
Hope that helps. -
battery issues fixed its the graphics display causing the headache now

I'd hate to say it but there are some that should not attempt a clean install. The system comes fully functional, and Sony systems are notoriously picky on the exact sequence that things are installed.
Why not go back to your factory image (you saved that, right?), check that everything is working, and then simply uninstall the 5 or 6 bloatware applications? -
i dont use HP I se UL , and I figured it out and posted a how to be-it short.
everything is working as it should and I dont have sony telling me what to do nor do I have that awful screen flicker that everyone else has
my S series is a POS!!!
