    and its very loud!

The fan on the SZ-23 keeps spinning no matter what settings i change it to (as long as the laptop is on), even when i set CPU fan to minimum in power manager.

    Hi er12345,

I believe the fan doesn't switch off.
You may try to go into the BIOS to forcefully switch off the fan, but I believe that was done to protect your computer.

By the way, are you using the computer in Speed mode or Stamina mode?

The fan should always spin whenever the notebook is turned on, or else your CPU & GPU will fry. I found that my SZ fan is quiet except when the cpu is running at full speed and the temp goes over 53C. That's when the high rpm starts kicking in.

Use Notebook Hardware Control and monitor at what CPU temperature and speed the fan starts increasing rpm. In the CPU Speed settings use Dynamic Switching for AC and battery power, and select the correct power scheme.

I've tried this software: at first it looks really good and I love how it displayed information.
However since its been installed: three times the laptop failed to restart from standby, the laptop turned off by itself twice and once after I had put the SZ to sleep, came back home. A few hours later I tried to start it: the battery was completely flat.

I've removed NHC last night: not a single issue since, so I'm fairly confident it's the culprit as I never had any issues before i installed it
