    not driver disks, not even the Windows recovery disk. how am i suppose to do clean install without them? i know Dell and HP are giving buyers option to have the disks, but Sony never gave me that option when i placed my order.

    It's normal. Make recovery disks using the built in utility.

    Everything you need is in a hidden partition on your HDD/SSD. Use VAIO Recovery Center like beaups said. Good idea to make the recovery disks in case you lose the recovery partition (HDD crash), but until that happens, you can do complete system recovery from the recovery partition itself.

    You're not 'supposed' to clean install in any case. The manufacturer is selling you the laptop with the OS :) thats just the way it is dude :) anyways, using vaio recovery, its very easy to create the disks.
