This is about the non-premium screen. I just want to check whether a few things about it is normal.

    1) when i close my lid i notice that, looking from the side, the lid is further away from the body in the middle than the sides.

I looked again and it appears that my screen is a bit concave...is this right?

    2) Other issues is the back of the lid is very flexible towards the hinges; i can easily depress the magnesium lid there. This doesn't appear to affect the image when i press it though. Is this also normal?

    3) the edges of my screen is not adhered to the edges of the bezel (the frame around it). I.e. if i looked from the side or from the top (parallelt o the screeN) i can see the backlight (a bright white line; there is no light leakage on the screen itself tho). If i used say..a wet tissue to clean my screen the fluid will drain right into my back light. Is this normal =/?

Unfortunately small "defects" like slightly warped/bent panels, wavy keyboards, overall less than stellar fit and finish, are very common, and seem to be getting moreso all the time. I've looked closely at many different notebooks in stores, sometimes the same notebook in many stores, and upon close inspection, they all seem to have the same issues. The wavy keyboards are what I tend to see most often. It's kind of sad that manufacturers can't insist on perfection in that sense, it's surely not impossible....but it's no doubt easier (and cheaper) to get them assembled quick, and allow a nice margin for imperfection. I suppose they hope that most won't notice, and many probably don't. When we go to buy cars, if the body panels don't fit evenly and the dashboard is crooked, we would naturally assume that the car is of poor quality. It should be no different with computers, they are, after all, fairly expensive items. Anyway...

I don't think your screen is supposed to necessarily be concave, but if it's only a very small amount, and the image on the screen isn't distorted, i'd say you have to live with it.

The magnesium used on the lids isn't 100% rigid, it will flex some.

As far as the bezel not being adhered to the screen, I think this is normal. I've never had a notebook where the bezel was completely flush with the screen all the way around. I haven't ever been able to see my backlight though. When you clean the screen, you shouldn't use large amounts of liquid...if it's dripping, you're using too much.
