I was given a sony pcg-Gr300p by my father.
The laptop don't start. When the adapter is plugged to courant, there is no light and the battery is not charging.
according to my father, the problem occured when courant was cut and it came back with high power. So the adapter was damage. Could the mainboard been damage also? Or the Battery helped to protect the mainboeard from that kind of problem. If yes is the battery still working? What do i have to do?
    Thanks in advance

Take out the battery and plug it into the ac adapter. If it doesn't turn on then there is either a problem with the adapter or the laptop.
