Everytime I adjust the volume with the exterior buttons on my laptop a small dialog box comes up with the current volume level is as well as when I hit mute. My laptop is a Sony VAIO FW463J/T with Window's Vista Home Premium. I normally don't care but with some games it forces the game to minimize. Any help would be appreciated.

Before playing a game or anything where the notification bar would interfere, go to your task manager and kill VaioEventManager. It should stop the notifications, but if you log out and back in, they should come back. If you want to permanantly disable them, look in "services.msc" and disable it from there, then it won't start again until you start it back up.
