    dear forum members,

On my VGN-Z31 I cannot change the TCP/IP offloading parameters for the Ethernet adapters. This applies to both the built-in Intel and the Marvel Yukon Ethernet of the docking station.

When changing the driver settings in Win7 x64 Device Manager, all settings related to TCP and UDP offloading can be selected but they don't stick: they are always deselected when you re-open the Device Manager. Fortunately, other settings such as 1 Gbps jumbo packet size or VLAN do stick.

I have tried numerous driver versions, from Sony, Intel and Msrvell, with no result. I could not find any settings in the advanced BIOS menu either (4044M3)

Has anyone else seen this before? :err:

    greetings from Holland

Check in regedit whether HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Tcpip\Parameters\DisableTaskOffload is set.

That said, many disable it because of the problems it triggers with connecting to Exchange servers and Windows Terminal servers. There's unfortunately so much software out there that doesn't work with TOE enabled, that Microsoft even has released hotfixes that disables it (if you've installed non-critical fixes and patches, you might have ended up disabling it that way).
