    new Bios for VAIO SR

    BIOS updates can be preformed regardless of your operating system when you use the USB or CD method. If you are using the "inside windows" method (which I don't recommend by the way no matter how safe they say it is...) then yes, you would need the one from your operating systems driver download page for your model.

    no ! i installed it , and i just have vista home premium , but said it solve a problems for windows XP !! but I updated my bios before 2 days and till every thing work great !!

    Okay, well im kinda ashamed of this but... i've never done the CD/USB method....how do i install it this way?

    vaio SR19 is the same is SR13 (Asian model) so it's work with your laptop without any problem !

    Yeah, how to do USB method? I am using Vista on a SR12G Asian model. However, it does say that Vista users do not need this.

    Usually, there is an ISO image you can download from the manufacturer's website for your model. If there isn't one readily available, then another option would be to contact Sony to get the download. A lot of the manufacturer's aren't providing the ISO's anymore though.

    I suppose saying the Windows method is bad isn't entirely true, I just don't like to do it that way if I can help it because there is more room for error and issues with all that runs naturally in the background and or flakiness an O.S. can have for whatever reason.

    i updated the bios from windows vista ,no problem !! this my fourth laptop , i never faced any problem while updating the bios from the windows !!

    If you guys look in the Sony page it says not to install this for Vista. The description of fixes also seemed to be geared for XP. I think I'll give this a pass considering it seems to be for XP.
