    Sony has announced a new line-up which is due to be presented next Tuesday here in Germany (actually in Munich). A spokesperson said there will be five new models (not just upgrades). Does anyone know more details?

    Sadly our fantastic contact we had at Sony left for greener pastures last year and now we don't get many updates from them :( Umm, so what are you doing next Tuesday? How about going to Munich and taking some pictures for us :) I'm sure we could work out a train ticket for you, we love pictures!

    Well, I have another job to do that day, thats the reason why I cant go. Anyway I am pretty sure that Sony will provide some pictures right after the event. And if the models are really that spectacular I wont hesitate to load them up. By the way: Its all about European models and you never know in waht configuration they might appear on your side of the world.

    Well, they are here. According to VAIO Japan, A, FS, and S series got some updates and Sony introduces new BX and TX series.

    FS & S are getting new GeForce Go 6400 with TurboCache. You can actually put Go 6400 with 256 MB TC if you have 1 GB+ main memory in S. I am not sure how much improvement 6400 is over 6200, but at least it is going to the right direction with the memory part at least.

    BX is going to get ATI X700 as option, so they could be hotter than the A series that still use X600. I am sure there are some fine lines that may still make A come out on top in some arenas.

    TX...haven't read carefully, but no more RED exterior. :mad:

    The 6400 should be on par with an X600, putting those laptops, especially the S series in a pretty good position, although I think that the 14" BX model will be a big hit... as long as the prices are decent.

    I'm shocked that it's taken this long for any major company to endorse the 6400 given that it's a very mainstream-geared card.

    As a recap:

    X300 <-> 6200
    X600 <-> 6400
    X700 <-> 6600
    X800 <-> 6800
    X800 XT <-> 6800 Ultra

    I really want the 6400 in the FS, it'd make it perfect for me.

    Any idea when they're gonna be available in the US / UK ?

    Relatively soon. I'd say October.
