I just got a new VGN-NW230 and have noticed that the case is warped so that it doesn't sit flat. The rubber foot under the right wrist rest does not touch the surface the laptop is sitting on (you can fit a nickel under the rubber foot). Because of this, there is an annoying squeak on the right side whenever you move your hand because of all the flex in the case. And I'm a little concerned about future damage because of all the movement in the case.

I bought it online and may have trouble returning, should I even worry about it? I haven't had a Sony before, how is their support (if I can't return it)? I haven't even had it a week, so I don't want to get a refurb back from support.

You created two threads with two separate issues. You should just return it since you have too many problems with it.

I bought it online from Office Depot and I don't think they're going to be very accommodating with an exchange (but who knows, maybe they'll prove me wrong). It's a model that's not sold in their stores, so I can't return it to the store.

Contact them and request an exchange as long as it's within the return period. That is your right as a consumer, unless you bought a refurbished computer from them, then your exchange rights might be more limited. Read their return and exchange policy. If you just bought it ......you did just buy this within a few days ago didn't you..... then how could they sell you a damaged computer without allowing you a fair exchange. I would get my money back and buy from somewhere else. I don't trust Office Depot.

You shouldn't! I could start a whole new thread on that. Hindsight.
