All, I just got an sz340 yesterday and I am going to stick with XP. Any tips or tricks to increase the speed? any specific updates?

has only 1gig of RAM, I know that it supports DDR2, what is the maximum clock speed it supports? does it support pc2-5300 667MHz??

any tips would be helpful for me....

    thanks.

There's a fantastic thread for Notebook Optimization over in the "dummy guides" section of these forums. Check it out! :)

    Congrats on your purchase!

    Hi,

This is a question that only others owners of SZ3xx will be able to answer. The “dummy guides” doesn’t help much in this specific case.
I read in some topic, in this forum, one user complain about Sony Vaio, exactly because memory will run @533mhz even if you upgrade with 667mhz. He attributed this insure to a bios limitation.
He said that, after install two 1gb 667mhz CPU-Z indicated 533MHz to memory clock.

Like I said, only others owners of SZ3xx can help us (us, because I have the same notebook and I’m planning upgrade to 2gb 667mhz), confirming and/or denying this information.

    Anyway, I ordered 667 memories, because it’s able to run in 533 (4-4-4-12) or 667 (5-5-5-16).

    Regards.
