hi all I'm new here, I hope this is the right place

the problem i am having at the moment is there is no display just black, the backing
lights come on but thats it, if i plug in a external Monitor it all works
is there a switch display mode button ??? ( i have no manual)
also the cmos battery is dead and i also think the keyboard is not working right can that affect the screen display in any way.

There should be a switch display option in your Video Card options.

On MOST Sony models the F7 key does this. You have to hold the blue Fn key down as well. Do you see a small bkue icon on the F7 key? Does it show LCD and a monitor logo? If so that is the key to use.
