no mass storage driver??

i'm runnind windows vista on my FE and under the device manager, there's an exclamation sign for the mass storage controller (which i assume it controls the pro duo slot). i've already installed the memory card reader driver for vista from sony website but it still doesn't help. i've also updated the bios for vista.
anyone knows where to get the driver for the pro duo slot to work?? it was working on windows xp before changing to vista.

thanks but it's still not working.. it didn't found any driver under c:/windows

but my card adapter VGP-MCA20 and the card adapter slot is working fine though.. it's only the memory stick pro duo slot that is not working even if i plug the memory stick in it has no reactions at all (not even a pop up saying to install the drivers).

 

IIRC, if you insert MS duo in the memory stick duo slot, there will be no pop up, you need to click on the icon in my computer. If you don't have the MS icon in my computer, you might want to reinstall it with a driver from SONY support site

 

the provided drivers on the sony support site doesn't work. it makes no difference after i installed

 

That's weird! And I know the SONY Support is not helpful on these matter either......

yea sony tech don't know anything about it and just told me that the laptop didn't support mem stick of 2GB and up (even though i tried the 1GB and still not working)

anyway i found out the solution (this applies only if ur running vista). i used the recovery discs i created when i just bought the laptop.
-insert the disc and check the the driver for memory stick to be reinstalled.
-restart computer after the installation completed
-in the device manager, you will see the mass storage is still with exclamation sign.
-click on it and go to update/install driver
-browse driver to search in C:\windows (as fastorange's method)
-and now the proper drivers will be installed and the mem stick pro duo slot will be working and shown in windows explorer!

 

Great!!! I guessed SONY missed a bunch of drivers in our harddrives when they are too busy to put these together. Great found!
