when i had window 7, my graphics card which is nvidia work perfectly fine, but after i change to window vista ultimate, i " lost " my nvidia driver. i downloaded nvidia driver at ww.nvidia.com but when i tried to install it, i get an error " The NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hrdware. Setup will now exit."

I really want to install that driver, i have nvidia graphic card but i cant install the driver

The drivers on the Nvidia site won't work with Sony Vaio laptops, its mentioned somewhere below where you click to download it. Sony for some reason does not want its customers to have access to the Nvidia driver updates.

Because of this you have two option: laptopvideo2go.com or get the drivers off sony e support.

or you can modify the official Nvidia inf yourself (not that hard) to make it install in your Sony.

Not without breaking driver signing, and having to either turn off large parts of the Vista security features or live with two requesters on every startup.

    Rajeesh,

Would you mind posting the instructions for doing this modification. Maybe in a separate thread. And does you method mitigate the issue that arth1 brings up?

I will post the instructions soon. Modifying the driver inf invalidates the digital signature associated with that inf and so the digital signature is not valid for that modified inf. Vista will pop up an alert saying "the driver is not digitally signed" only during installation. The alert can be safely ignored in a 32-bit OS, but not in a 64-bit OS, which enforces driver signing and you cannot install the driver in a 64-bit OS.
