At least on recent Sony laptops there is Vaio Update..which should find the updates automatically. Make sure you have it installed and set to find updates automatically. I personally uninstalled it, I would rather check in periodically to find updates rather than to have yet another program running in the background.

I think the idea behind the download taxi is that you can choose the updates you want and download them all at once, instead of one by one.

Don't bother with the Taxi. Just click on the download link and save it to disk and then run it. Easy as pie.

Go to add/remove programs..it should be listed seperately, verify that you have it installed. How old is your notebook?

Pretty odd...maybe the 160 doesn't come with it. Did you check your recovery partition or backup discs? When it's on your system, it will show up in add/remove.
