    while upgrading to win 7 on my vaio fw ,the manual said it was recommended to remove the openmg secure module.after upgrade and after using the supplement discs i see that the openmg secure module is not reinstalled.what is this?is this really necessary?

    It's a DRM system used to lock/unlock files to a device or memory stick.
    If you have Net MD Walkman (or a Sony Clie) and some of your music collection in ATRAC3 format, it will make a difference. Otherwise, probably not.
