    hi, long time reader, first time poster here. i bought a vaio nr21z back in march and recently installed the firmware upgrade for the dvd drive from the sony site. ever since, its stopped reading dvd roms. i can burn and read dvdrs fine which is weird.i was wondering if anyone here has experienced problems with this update? its running dual boot with vista and xp. installed the upgrade in vista. could this be part of the problem?

    im posting here because ive found european vaio web support to be of little help. any advice would be greatly appreciated.
