i had this problem earlier. http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=102105

the os SOMETIMES won't load in my sz320p/b

after the windows xp screen i would see a "semi-blue" screen. it's semi because it doesn't fill the entire screen and it immediately dissapears. also, it's not considered a blue screen as event viewer and everest doesn't indicate so.

to get the computer to restart i had to pull the power cord.

this sucks not only because i had this problem earlier and thought that a reboot would solve the problem but the message in the blue screen dissapears. not only that but event viwer reports no problems. this problem is also more frequent that when i rebooted. before was about 1/10. now it's 7/10.

my system is clean of viruses/adwares/malwares. it also can't be a registry problem since i have a good registry cleaner

i had no luck searching online.
    a
anybody have a clue how i solve this problem? i'm willing to take any comments. i'll definately call sony support after midterms are over.

    thanks

Check out Everest's hard disk SMART status...you might have a drive going bad and corrupting files along the way. I'd also run MemTest86 and check up on the RAM.

Do you have files backed up? Do this first if not completed yet... HDD failure is a definite possibility... Now that is out of the way, you indicate the system has no malware or viruses, so what about recently introduced programs, updates, firmware/bios updates? What has changed with your system? If nothing, have you performed a restore? Good luck...

    thanks but...

everest said the hd is ok.
the component tester that came with the sz said everything was ok.
i haven't tried memtest yet since i'm not sure how to make a boot disk.

malware? i'm using nod32, spyware doctor, and other things. these are the same ones i'm using on my pc. they haven't found anything wrong.

one thing i've noticed is that this happened sometime after i downloaded netframework 3.0 from microsoft. anybody using netframework3?

and yes i've backed up everything. including the restore disks i made immediately i got the sz out of the box.

    it's really strange.....

    anymore suggestions? thanks anyway
