 i even dont use these buttons much since i have an external keyboard with volume keys.

this morning, when i touched the button for the first time in a month, the paint on (-) Volume faded away.

my finger was totally clean. everything is clean, even the surface of the laptop

what can i do. and anybody explain this for me

If you are out of warranty I'd just rub all the paint off those buttons.

Isn't gloss just clear paint, and wouldn't crappy gloss be just as likely to chip as crappy paint?

i'd scrape it completely and repaint it cuz if u don't take the remaining off, it might peel off again soon even if you repainted it.
you can get those small bottles of paint (~$2.00)at any hobby shop where they usually sell plastic models. they will have almost any color you want (pearl white in your case) and those paints are specially made to stick to plastic so it won't be easy to peel off like maybe some other paints you can get.

about the mute button, it seems you only have a very little paint chip. so i'd go with a touch-up only on that button and not to completely scrape off the paint... gl
