This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    hi there, i have a sony laptop pcgfrv37, and was getting smart disk failure. so i bought a new harddrive, and tryed installing xp on it, however it wouldnt go. i taled to sony support who told me to set the bios to default, and go from there. now neither of the hard drives appear in the bios. at least the old one did earlier today. can anyone suggest anything i might try to get this sony laptop going again. tyvm in advance..mike
