It looks GREAT!
but it's probably a fingerprint magnet..
thanks for posting the pics -
I like it a lot. It is yours? Are you making a review?
Or did you get the pictures somewhere else. -
It looks in its design a lot like a Toshiba I saw today in the train...
I strongly dislike the gloss finish.
Apart from that I wouldn't stand the design.
Good I got the SZ then.
Still, there are people who like it (I don't) -
why dont they have the barrel hinge?
-
Try for once that not everybody likes them.
Also, I'm wondering if the barrel hinge is supposed to optically differentiate "laptop types".
-> business
-> high end
-> middle range
If I'm not mistaken, the barrel hinge can be found on the TZ, Z, SR
all marketed as Business laptops, the FW doesn't quite fit in there, except as a desktop replacement for a private businesses maybe.
I'm not sure about the AW off the top of my head, neitheer about the BZ... -
I just noticed it says "NOT FOR SALE" on the box...
-
The only laptops that lack the barrel hinge design are the recent CS and NS models, all other Centrino 2 models have it.
-
Probably because these two designs are outsourced to Taiwanese ODM instead of Sony's in-house team... -
i wonder if this would be one of those polarising designs. i still think they look pretty in the press photo's but here i am just finding it too glossy and too rounded. i definantly prefer the business models looks wise
query - is the keyboard actually inset?
thanks so much for posting! -
wow, nice to see the black color version in glossy which cr doesnt have.
ps:i have post the pictures it in one vaio notebook forum. i hope you dont mind. do tell me if you want me to take off the pictures. thanks for the pictures!
-
I really don't like the trend of consumer notebooks having glossy surfaces, they will get fingerprints and scratches on them if you even look at them funny. I'd much rather have matte surfaces on my notebook.
-
hi
see on below photo how the bezel (?) around the keyboard is higher than the the keyboard (making the top of keys same height), so the keyboard is 'inset'. compared to say the SR which has a 'flat' keyboard.
or its an optical illusion. i am not sure i am explaing it properly but i hope someone knows what i mean.
i can't recall the CS keyboard, its been ages since i've seen one of those in person

I went to frys today i saw a pink CS not sure the exact the model number but the keys seem to be smaller than the SR and it was spongey feeling. All i did was touch the keyboard didn't really play around with it. I was actually surpised that it was on the floor. I just didn't have time to examine it.
