    hi,

I am having vaio japanese model PCG-9T2N, which was showing a error as No Operating system while booting.

So i formated the hard disk, but even after that giving same error but it boots if i put XP CD into drive.

    now my first problem :
    1. earlier there where 3 partitions for hard drive, C,D and E of which i deleted D and E using XP bootable CD

but my MBR is still showing as

    upartioned space 4769MB
    C: partion1 [NTFS] 14308MB
    unpartioned space 57239MB

first let me remove this unpartioned space....can anyone help me to remove this?

    waiting for reply...
    Thanks,
    Prasad

You need to boot into the recovery console with the XP CD and run the following command: fixmbr \Device\HardDisk0

Go into symbol and then go on Latin-A and it should be somewhere round there!

you cannot delete unpartition, you can just merge it with the formated patition like you have the c: drive. you can use tools like pqmagic or acronis.
