    sony vaio FZ31E not FZ31Z ! missed up in the title
    i need to enable ahci ! what's the register for?

    i want to enable ahci in the phoenix bios of my vaio fz31e! i downloaded symcmos and have copied the registers in a txt document! now i need to know which register i ve to set to 1 so that it activates the AHCI after i write this file to the bios memory ! :) tnx . :)

    If you want to install XP, you have to slipstream the SATA driver with the XP install disk. Google "nlite" for more info. The XP CD won't recognize your SATA hard drive otherwise.

    tnx a lot but what about my mac os ? it also doesn't recognize my vaio hdd....

    Installing a Mac OS on a non Mac screen violates the license agreement for the OS. Such discussions are not allowed on these forums. Best that you just say "some other OS", lest the moderators give you the boot.
