    hey. I just bought a SONY SR laptop. I know it comes with DDR2 ram, but is it possible in the future to buy DDR3 ram for the laptop?

    And it would not make much difference to performance so it does not really matter.

    No. DDR3 does not fit in DDR2 banks.

    But why anyone would want to puzzles me. DDR2 is cheaper and equally fast.
