I just want to open to discussion what are the most critical factors that affect the battery's life. does someone know if leaving the laptop connected to the AC Power after its fully charged will decrease battery life in the long term? thanks in advance.

I'm also wondering about that battery thing. Can some tell me?

yeah, leaving the battery connected with the AC power willl certainly cause the heat rising, and ruin battery life.
-
so what should you do when you're at home and don't need to be moving around .....remove the battery, and connect just the laptop? or should i be using the battery at all times? will intensive use of the battery also affect its life?

Basically if you have your laptop plugged in, you are not using battery power. The circuit voltage cuts off so your battery power is not consumed after 100% charged.
Other than that, dim the display and set options to hibernate/sleep on 5-10 minutes inactivity and you should see pretty good battery life, at least to what your manufacturer says.
