    sorry guys i know this is a minor problem,but everytime the vaio update wants to update the setting utility series but everytime the installation fails.is there any workaround for installing the latest version.this problem is annoying me very much

    I'd set a System Restore Point or create a backup image of your C: partitiion then uninstall the old one and try installing the new on. But do NOT do this without a good backup or retore point!!!

    the update provided in the vaio website is not a stand alone version and requires the previous version to be installed.any other suggestion please?......

    Install the previous version. It is on the Sony site as well.
