    Hi,

I am having a new problem of being unable to control display and volume with the Fn shortcut. The volume/display bar doesn't show up for some reason.

What program controls this? will restoring it through sony vaio recovery help? thx

    Are you still using Vista?
The keys are working or not?
In vista look to the device manager if there is some unknown device, if yes try installing this driver for it and restart

The service is called Vaio Event Service (but I didnt got FN keys working unless I installed these too Shared Library and Sony Utilities as first at clean instal Vista or XP)
So I suggest reinstall Vaio Event Service I hope that helps.
