I have a vaio fz 290 (nVidia) standard wide screen resolution and a 1080p hdtv. I hooked up my vaio to the tv using an hdmi cable. However, no matter what I did, the tv display did not produce the full 1080 resolution. When I set the tv as my solo display, it had a higher resolution, but part of the screen (task bar and side) was cut off. Does anyone have any advise on how I can take advantage of the full 1080p tv display?
    Thanks for your help.
