product key :/

hi guys erm i did i clean install of vista on my laptop worked perfectly but the problem now is basically i used one of the product key finders and now when i go to activate windows with the product key i was given (the one on the bottom of my laptop has like rubbed and faded and is not unreadable :/ ) and now every time i try and activate windows i get the error code: 0xC004E003 and it wont activate :/ i have rang Microsoft up and they won't help me they say its sony's problem what should i do :/

 

It is Sony's problem. You need to contact them and get reinstallation CDs. There is nothing we can really do to help this, without suggesting illegal cracks.

 

ok thanks i'll give them a ring and tbh illegal cracks are good if you arent connected to the internet so yeah :/ bit lol i'll give sony a ring see what they say

 

apparently sony cant do anything about it either :/ they just said buy a vaio recovery CD which will take it back to the factory settings . . . thats 41 quid however i was looking on ebay and found a working microsoft product key XD erm its meant to be a genuine one the guys got like 5 of them and hes sold a few more all with 100% feedback so im gonna buy one and see what happens as it seems the cheapest option :/

 

right may have a break through moral hazard gave me a spare vista business key he wasnt using so very much thanks to him i'm going to download a vista business iso and give it a shot once again thanks moral hazard

Update: reinstalled vista but the business edition, worked smoothly Fn keys work and it activated want to thank moral hazard for giving me the key for nothing its very much appreciated
