    What is the difference between the standard 160 GB hard drive and the 160 GB hybrid hard drive...the hybrid has flash memory. What does flash memory do?

    Essentially, it provides a small amount of storage for quick writes and retrievals of data, to speed up some tasks.

    But, if you had the option, I wouldn't bother buying it. The current generation hybrid drives have too little flash memory to give you any great performance increase.
