Ive noticed that the SZ comes with X-Black only as opposed to X-Black with double lamp technology.

I was wondering what you thought of your screens? How bright/sharp are they?

Ive heard that double lamp gives a brighter screen but if i can do without it then it means i pay less.

Has anyone compared their SZ screen to an FE screen?

    Thanks for the help.

I don't know how much brighter it will make it but keep in mind the size difference. You don't really need double lamp... cause its a smaller screen and also having double lamp will increase power consumption.

Regarding sharpness, the lamp won't make it any sharper it just increases the brightness. And honestly I think its pretty darn bright as it is, I have mine set to always brightness level 7 (out of 9) or lower if on battery. Its too bright at max setting.

Lyshen, the SZ150 is a premium model yeah? The SZ premium screen is LED backlit, not lampbacklit. It is significantly brighter than the lamp lit screen of the non premium.

I have the normal X-Black and I can only agree with Lyshen: It definitely is bright enough. Full brightness is good enough to work in direct sunlight, which I think is pretty much the worst case scenario for a glossy screen notebook.
And by the way: Having seen the X-Black and the LED screens side to side, I can tell you: Yes, the LED is brighter, but it's not as extreme as some people make it sound.

Another way of putting it is the LED screen is like having two or three extra notches of brightness.
For me, at work, I would have to have it at full brightness when I had my sz120. The sz160 I have now, I have it set to two bars lower and it works about the same.
I didnt think it would be worth paying $400+ more for that feature. Well, there were some ofther differences, but that was the main one for me. After using it, I would say if you have the cash, get the brighter one. Consider it this way, you use the screen 100% of the time. wouldnt you want the best you can afford?
