Hi.![]()
I received my FE yesterday and was playing around with it all day since.
I have never had a laptop before, so I don't know if this is the case for every laptop, just FE, or just memad: boo~).
so the problem I had is my touchpad just doesn't work for about 30 seconds once a while. when those happen I will just have to sit still and not touch the touchpad until it works.
This had happened numerous times already (like... 5-6 times).
umm... it's quite hard to explain how the cursor behaves... but
you can imagine using a good old ball mouse with massive dusk stuck in it.
when this happens...my cursor is not totally stuck in one position. the cursor does move a little, very little - like 1/4 inch on the screen at the most. It also doesn't move in the direction I want it to. (e.i. cursor moves like .4 cm upward when my finger is moving straight to the right from all the way left to all the way right on the touchpad. (it is...really annoying when it happens)
I asked my roommate who had his asus for about 6 months...
he told me he never had that problem with his and don't think it's supposed to be the case for any laptops. so I'm seeking for answers and help.....
I know number of FE owners are on this forum now...
if you guys had that similar problem or can think of any reason why this is happening...
please help me out![]()
Thank you for any help in advance ^^

I have that problem with my HP sometimes...what I do though is just turn off the mouse because I have the on/off button...though I dont know why it happens or anyway to fix it on the FE as there is no on/off button.
Check the mouse settings in the Control Panel, see if something is out of place? -
There is a driver update for the touchpad I beleive.

but i wouldn't know if the problem is fixed right away
since it happens once a while randomly
so please share more info if anyone has something to share!!
and thank you matt -
Never had that problem, but then again I am not using my touchpad much anyway. Hopefully the new drivers will fix this, otherwise I would call support.

Sometimes when you are touching the pad with more than one finger the pad will sense 2 contact points and not respond acurately. Not sure if this is your issue but you may want to see if you are accidentally doing this as you stated are new to notebooks. I know I used to have that tendency when I first started out with my notebooks...
Don -
but does that cause touchpad to not work for a period of time tho?
and I got blue screen twice trying to run a game already!!! (it worked all fine yesterda\y)
hope it's a software problem.. not hardware...
received my FE yesterday... and touchpad question
