I'd like to reinstall the BIOS for a random reason. Is there a way to make the update install the BIOS, because the currently installer says the BIOS is current and there is no need to update. Thanks.

You actually want to downgrade your BIOS to a older version, right? And the BIOS updater utility won't let you do that. Please first identify what kind of BIOS you have (Insyde H2O, Award, whatever) and use DOS BIOS flashing tools for that.

The story is something weird is going on with the fanspeed control in my laptop. And recently it's been acting weird. Usually when you start the laptop, it'll take a while before the fan kicks in, but now it will immediately start. And then at idle, the fan will spin high, and when there is increase CPU load, the fan spins down, and probably back up later. Fanspeed is not affected by changing the thermal settings in the Control Center. I've reset default settings in the BIOS. It is a strange problem right now. It's an SR290, I'll have to see what kind of BIOS it is tomorrow.
