This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    reinstalled XP on sz381 because of MS kb896256

    opened new laptop and failed to achieve proper performance
    (1 core did not work + windows lagged)

    so i reinstalled everything
    applied all libs and patches (this is my 5th vaio :) )

    everything works except hdd protection utility
    and security center crashes with
    "application popup: vsc.exe - application error : the application failed to initialize properly"

    any ideas? :D

    Vaio Central Application is a old name for Vaio Contol Center. VCC could be downloaded here.
