I mixed up my cds. I stuck the viao installation CD into my main computer to see what dvd it was and the viao installation wizard ran. I cancelled it and ejected my dvd. Now every time I start up my home computer It asks for my viao installation dvd. How do I get rid of that? Should I just stick the dvd back in? or will it actually erase my home pc?
Btw, home pc is not the vaio.

In the start menu there is a folder called "Start up" make sure there is no sony stuff there.
If that doesnt work go to start>run then type "msconfig". Make sure no sony stuff is starting by unchecking the box. -
yup did that and the bugger still comes back. I'm tempted to just stick in the cd. I'm guessing it should be safe. like sony saying its not a vaio computer and install fail or something...

If the stuff installs you can sell it on eBay as a Vaio (^_~).
Glad to see your spelling VAIO correctly now (^_^)Last edited by a moderator: May 8, 2015 -
Lol. Never noticed I was "fat fingering" vaio. I guess that's another word I have to add to my "teh", "adn" hehe

Something might be left in boot files(such as boot.ini or win.ini) or the registry.

yup. that much I figured. jsut dont "see" it. I'll look again later in the boot.ini
remove viao installation prompt
