Hi. Recently bought a Z11 refurb for a steal and am loving it, except the enormous amt of bloatware, especially Sony stuff. Don't have a Sony W7 Pro disk for clean install, and have a couple of questions:

    1) Any reason you know of why my OEM HP W7 Pro 64 bit OS disk would not work?

    2) Is best bet for doing a clean install to order a disk from Sony, or can I make one on a uSB drive?

    3) Going the other route, can you recommend not what Sony bloatware to uninstall (I know about the other stuff), but what to keep, presuming it is a much shorter list. (Appreciate answer to this because it is the quickest, low risk method for now.)

    Thanks

    1) No idea... can't help you with this one
    2) Not sure I understand the question? What do you mean? Sony only bares responsibility for their "version" of Windows 7, they will not help you clean install anything.
    3) The programs I have kept on my Vaio S and find very helpful are:

    • Vaio Control Center
    • Vaio Smart Network
    • Vaio Gate (it is just for convinience, check it out and uninstall if you don't like it. I find it useful).
    • OneClick Internet (if your Z has WWAN as well)
