Does anyone have any tips or advice on removing the HD on an older VGN-T250? This machine has a 1.8" HD and I'm wondering if I need to disassemble the entire laptop just to get to the HD connector.

There's usually a removable panel on the bottom for the hard drive. There should be one for hd, one for ram and maybe one for a wireless chip.

Nope, You have to open whole system to remove the hard drive.
Remove all screws at bottom first. Then remove keyboard and hinge covers.
Remove three more screws from palm rest. Then take out the palm rest, you will see the hard drive in the middle.
See my instructions at this forum to find how to open your laptop.

I took the entire machine apart. The HD is towards the back of the machine, near the center. Not an easy task to remove or upgrade this HD.
