    hi i want to replace my ssd in a vaio fw 490 with a regular hard drive. do i remove it in the same way as a regular hard drive? and does it breach my extended service plan?

    No it doesnt breach your service plan and yes, you simply swap it with a hd of the same configuration and reinstall your OS.
