    quick question, i know nothing is future proof especially with high tech stuff. how long before Sony launch a refreshed or a new S series? they just refreshed the SA & SB couple months ago. anyone offer a guess?

    Not likely. The first "refresh" has already happened and it brings almost no changes. The next update would be announced at CES and available end Q1 2012.

    Mainly because this year Intel does not have any updates planned I believe for Sandybridge CPUs like last year.

    But going from XPS 17 to a 13 incher ????? Didn't quite get that. In both gaming and general performance it will be a step back.

    The SA/SB couldn't really use a buff anyway, they both utilize the i7-2620M which is the fastest dual core processor to date.

    With the lack of competition from AMD, Intel might as well delay releases of their future products and scrap up as much cash as they can with the current products still in manufacturing...

    My guess is that Sony will refresh the S in early-mid Q2 2012.

    Will get it once its launched here, somewhere around august beginning. Price 3555$. The prices here are crazy I know!
