Most integrated WiFi cards have a max speed of 54Mbps. They'll work on a 108MB Turbo network, but won't transfer at that speed. I think what this technology does is it utilizes multiple frequencies in the 2.4Ghz bandwidth to send/receive data. This will jam up/cause interference with other things in the house and vice versa.

It most likely uses some variant of the Intel Pro 2200 mini-pci card. I don't know of any laptops that have built-in cards that support the 108 turbo speed, mostly because those are not standard protocols and are usually proprietary to a particular company.

You want to read the specs before you buy something.

The A117 (A170 in the US) is 802.11g compliant (54Mbps), as are all A series Machines.

    One thing about Wireless speed.
If your laptosp covered Centrino, they must have all of three components - Pentium M, 852/855 Mobile Chipset and Intel WLAN 2100 or 2200BG and based on Intel WLAN specs, they do not support 108Mbps in turbo mode.
