hi guys, i have an 11.1" screen tx series, but the screen is cracked.
i have checked on various site, ebay store, and the cheapest i can get an oem replacement is around $300.
i am just wondering is it possible i can just buy any 11.1" netbook, and use its screen on the sony machine? since the netbook costs about the same as the lcd screen, and i can use the other parts too.
    what do you guys thinks..
    thanks

    Here's a possible work-around.

Go to a site like www.blisscomputers.net (which guarantees screen replacement compatibility so they likely keep their databases up to snuff). Find the screen manufacturer's part number of the screen used in your Z model ( https://servicesales.sel.sony.com/ecom/accessories/web/index.jsp) and the screen numbers at the bliss site that are used in the netbooks you're considering. If you get an identical match on screen manufacturer part number and specs, you're likely all set. If not, no way.

    Good luck!

NOt to mention I've never seen an 11.1" inch netbook. They are either 10.1 or 11.6.
