Hello, Im new to this forum and to sony vaio notebooks. just got my SZ 120 last night and im not very impressed, but I will keep on truckin. maybe im just being too critical. anyways, my question is regarding the touchpad.

Does anyone experience choppy scrolling while scrolling down a page. Is there a way to make it smooth? my old notebook (HP) had synaptics touchpad utility and it was awesome. can that be used with the vaio or am i way off?

any feedback would be great. thanks in advance.

Have you tried updating the drivers?

You can easily change the scroll settings in the mouse control, which should be floating down in the Windows system tray somewhere.

You should be able to set the width of the scroll bar, the speed, and the number of lines it scrolls.

ya i tried everything and nothing worked. finally i decided to system restore and take it back to cicuit city. i think i will buy the hp pavilion dv1000 series. cheaper and better build. the scrolling isnt what made me take it back, it was just the icing on the cake. since i got my sz in the mail i have been repairing it. i mean the first time i boot up it gives me like 2 error messages. then i spend all day with tech support, and top it off, this thing is flimsy as hell. so its going back.
