hi, i am thinking about purchasing a used (bought about 3 years ago, gently used) Sony VAIO PCG-V505DC2P. it's being sold pretty cheap- i like the fact that it's ultra-portable, weighing little and with only a 12.1 inch screen (i'm not into the widescreens.) it's a great deal...except that i've heared some bad things about Sony VAIO PCG-V505's, namely that their hard drives and other elements have an annoying penchant for dying after a year or 2. The operating system is windows XP pro, which i like- i've heard bad things about vista. my question is, does the DC2P have the same problems as some of the other V505's? And if so, is there some prophylactic measure i can take- installing a new hard drive for example- that solves this problem? i would really appreciate your input! thanks!
