I have a vaio vgn-fs415e and recently it takes a long time to start up approx 20 minutes to get onto internet. Once on the internet everthing is fine. The other thing is that the sound is distorted. Any ideas as I have payed a company to look into this but no luck. I am. using windows xp

wow 20minutes, thats a long time. my suggestions would be to run a virus scanner/ ad-aware, defrag. and get rid of programs that start when windows starts that you dont need. if that doesnt work than im not sure what the problem is

I, too, would suggest running anti-virus, anti-spyware and removing unnecessary items from your start-up menu. If you continue to have this problem, you might try restoring to a previous date or running Windows Repair. Hope it works out for you. ;)
