My VAIO SR290 has some problems on the webcam and on the usb ports. I sent it to the backstage of a local sonystye store on June 16.
The very next day, I was called and told that it had hardware probelm so they would have to ship it OVERNIGHT to a repair facility on the west coast.
After 7 days which was yesterday, the status still showed that "The Sony product that you have inquired about has not yet been received". I called the number provided from the status page, a clueless agent just told me to wait.
Today, June 24. 8 days! The status finally showed that it has been received.
OVERNIGHT service took 7 days!?
And...the new status:
The Sony product that you have inquired about is currently with a technician. The repair has not yet been completed. Repairs take approximately 10 working days to complete.
In other words, it may take 18 days for get it fixed!!!!!!
This is my first VAIO and will definitely be my last VAIO. I suggest that people should not buy VAIO (at least) for business purpose. My previous laptops were either Thinkpads or Dell. I have to say their service was way better. My friend told me that VAIO service sucks...I should have listened to him and shouldn't have bought it just because it looked pretty.
slow repair time
