    hi guys,
    can someone help me out by telling me how to get service pack 1 installed ?

    ive already dwn the stand alone file from the microsoft web site. after ive installed it i get an error msg and says service pack not installed.

    im using a sony vaio sz583 (aka sz6xx)
    vista business
    dwn all the updates from windows update
    dwn all the updates from vaio update

    and my vaio crashes while installing service pack 1 (blue screen of death)

    cant figure out whats wrong :mad:

    is vista business the original os?
    did you ever reformat since getting your computer?
    any software tweeks or software you are using to modify the original OS?

    you may want to contact sony to see if your specific model and what not, is completely ready for SP 1 (although it should be).

    Have you installed the prerequisite update for SP1? If I'm not mistaken, the KB937287 update.

    yea im using an original copy of windows vista business
    i did reformat windows once but thats juz restoring it to factory setting.

    ive dwn all the updates on WU.
    could it be my drivers thats preventing WU from showing SP1?

    anyways thanks for the help.

    SP1 will not be showing up on WU for everyone until the summer... at least that is what I've heard.

    I just updated to SP1 on Vista Business 32 the other night. I was 2 downloads, then the install.
