Just recently got this and have absolutely no complaints about its speed/size/weight/design/battery life/functionality/screen. I would vote for it over the TZ any day o' the week. Feel free to ask questions.

OK...here are some questions for you.

So, how is it like typing on the keyboard compared to the TZ? And what's your battery life with everything like brightness turned down?

battery life...I would say 6 or 7 hours in power saver mode and dimmed display. Right now it's at 48% remaining and 3 hours left at full brightness and regular power settings. The keyboard is smaller and takes a bit of getting used to at the beginning, but once you are used to it, it's just like any other keyboard. My only gripe with it was the backspace key which is half the size of a normal one, but now I remembered where it is so finding it in the dark is not a problem.

never typed on a tz before. or used one. I guess I shouldn't judge a computer by its online pictures? I've seen one briefly once at school, and felt the screen to be too small for essay writing.

I loved my G1, and love my G2. Have had it for quite awhile. The G2 is one of the best laptops I've ever owned.

G2KANA is being sold for 1600 USD on conics. That's at least 200 bucks cheaper than when I bought it. I wonder if updates are forthcoming.....

Very much the same on the outside as the G1 / G11, but there's nothing wrong with that. The G series packs a much bigger display into almost the same chassis size as the TZ.

I prefer the standard aspect ratio display, but it would be useful to have a higher resolution such as 1200 x 900.
