    currently using windows xp professional.

sometimes i would choose "restart" the vaio logo loads just fine. the windows xp would say "loading." but then a black screen. the computer would run normally but the screen is black. the only way i can restart/turn off the computer is by pulling out the power cable.

note that this only happens if i choose the restart option.

this happened to me about 4 times in total out of countless restarts.

went to event viewer and saw this error: msql$microsoftbcm
i had the warning ever since the first day i got the sz.
went to micro$oft and read the solution here: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;828246

microsoft says it's nothing to be concerned about but i'm thinking it might cause the no load to happen because the msql is the only warning or error i see in the event viewer and it occurs only at startups.

    my question is...
does anybody else have this problem?
in order to restart my laptop from this condition i had to pull out the power then re-insert it.... is this the best way to restart the computer from a black screen (note that control+alt+del and the power button didn't do anything)?

    thanks
